This feast is popular among Filipinos and devotees gather to this event yearly to thank and live their faith to the mother of Penafrancia. It was a feast where the image is exhibited thru a pagoda that runs along the river then straight to the church.
We were awakened by the cry of pigs being slaughtered from house to house. That’s the sound of some gluttony that await the locals around.
Soon we headed our way to the church to celebrate the town fiesta. We didn’t try to come near the river parade because of the thick crowd considering we have a kid with us.
We just heard a mass inside the church and waited for the arrival of the image of Our Lady of Penafrancia, then we prayed and celebrated with the locals.
After indulging in some local delicacies, we rested for the night and awakened early dawn for our next destination.
